D'AL School of Equine Massage Therapy
The equine massage therapy program is the only registered program of it's kind in North America and offers the most intensive program to date in equine massage. With the assistance of veterinarians, registered massage therapists, C.E.F. certified coaches, competitive riders and horse owners, a program has been designed to provide the student with the expertise to aide the equine athlete in rehabilitation as well as helping owners maximize the potential of their horses.
Part of what makes this program unique is that students are taught to consider themselves as an extension of veterinary health care, not an alternative. Our students work in conjunction with veterinarians to minimize rehabilitation time and enhance performance.
The program is 2200 hours in length and includes courses
in:
| equine anatomy | physiology | pathology |
| kinesiology | conformation | massage theory and technique |
| equine behaviour | equine management | business management |
| terminology | hydrotherapy | massage treatments |
Students will be required to complete an externship with a veterinarian before they will be recommended by the school to write their entrance to practice exam.
